Elon Musk Offers US$43 Billion To Buy Twitter And Take It Private

After becoming a shareholder with less than 10% in Twitter, Elon Musk is now making an official takeover bid for the social media platform, offering US$43 billion for the lock stock barrel.

The billionaire who is worth US$260 billion is willing to pay a premium of US$54.20 for the share that’s currently trading at US$48. Twitter has not responded to the offer except that the board will review and make decisions based on the best interest of all shareholders.

Elon who has 80 million followers and has been a big fan of the social media service, has been dropping hints about his vision for Twitter and how he wants to advocate free speech on the platform.

The pot-smoking CEO has also stated that if the board does not accept his offer he will then reconsider his position in the company as its shareholder.
