First of Its Kind, Career Fair in the Metaverse

Accenture Malaysia will launch the Accenture Careerverse on April 22, 2022. A career fair for technology talents hosted in the Metaverse and designed to connect with the generation that increasingly interacts in a parallel world.

Developed by Entropia, this immersive experience would not be the first time Accenture rolls out future technologies to recruit talent. In the past, the company was first to use VR headsets to give university students an experiential glimpse of life in Accenture.

In the Accenture Careerverse, candidates will get to chat with recruiters live, interact with leaders from global tech giants such as Microsoft, Google, AWS and SAP, and score a live interview with recruiters. It aims to recruit technology talent to help clients on their digital ambitions, especially in the retail and financial services sector. The event will run for one month from April 22.

The career fair is in line with the recent launch of the Advanced Technology Centre in Malaysia which aims to hire 2000 tech talent in the next few years, contributing to the MyDIGITAL ambition of creating 500,000 jobs in the digital economy.

According to Accenture research, the last two years have spurred enterprises to explore new modes of digital experience and pushed people to live virtually to an extent they never expected. Now the Metaverse is emerging as a natural evolution that reconciles how the internet is designed today with what we will demand from it going forward. 72% of respondents in Malaysia stated that the Metaverse will have a positive impact on their organisation in the future. The Metaverse promises to go beyond email, videoconferencing, and chat to create a digital centre of gravity for organisations and teams. In the long run, as the physical and digital worlds converge, we will have the ability to collaborate seamlessly across extended reality environments.
