PLUS has issued a Travel Time Advisory for the upcoming festive holiday where it expects a massive exodus as this will be the first time for many Malaysians to ‘balik kampung’ after 2 years of lockdown.

For those planning to exit Klang Valley between April 29 to 2 May, the best time advised to leave will be before 10 am for those headed up north like Penang, Kedah, Perlis Perak, and also South bound to Johor. To other states, the best time will be 1 pm.

As for those returning to Klang Valley between 5 May to 9 May, the best suggesting timing by PLUS is before 9 am from states like Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Johor, and other states.

This advisory is to prevent congestion on the highways especially at toll booths. It was been reported in the past for the Hari Raya exodus many were stranded on the highway’s for more than 8 hours heading to Kelantan and Trengganu, in this case, vehicles on the road are expected to be even higher.

PLUS is expecting at least 2 million cars on the highway for this year, with an overall 4 million could be heading back to their respective home town.
