Selangor To Organise The Successful Agro Sales Carnival For All Festive Season

Selangor could be holding its successful Mega Prihatin Sales Carnival event which was held prior to Hari Raya Aidilfitri every festive season after the organisers felt the event has become a popular activity for those looking for fresh produce at affordable prices.

Agricultural Modernization EXCO Ir Izham Hashim also described the program which started last February as very successful and received a lot of response at every location. The initiative was part of Selangor’s intervention program in making daily necessities affordable despite the rising cost of commodities and supply chain disruption that has caused food items to soar in prices.

The EXCO added, “Not necessarily Aidilfitri alone, maybe the Chinese New Year as well,”. After a series of small-scale pilot events at morning markets, the committee led by PKPS organised a large-scale sale event on days before Hari Raya from April 25 at 29 at various locations throughout the state.

The products offered were 23,200 fresh chicken, 23,200kg of solid meat, beef bones (16,700kg), grade B chicken eggs
(18,200 boards), packet cooking oil (25,200 kg) and 1,500kg of selayang and puffed fish which were all sold out within hours.
