Jokowi’s Government Reintroduces Wage Subsidy Program In 2022

President Jokowi’s Government will be reimplementation the wage subsidy assistance program as a form of the government’s concern for the welfare of laborers, Main Expert Staff at the Presidential Staff Office.

Similar to what Malaysia implemented to resuscitate the workforce by providing employers aid to keep workers on the payroll, Indonesia finds the need to continue with the program for 2022.

The wage subsidy program targets workers or laborers, with salaries below RM1,050 or Rp3.5 million. The Indonesian government has allocated Rp8.8 trillion for wage subsidy, of which each beneficiary will receive Rp1 million (RM300)

According, to the Ministry of Manpower, is currently striving to finalise the details of the criteria and mechanism of the disbursement to start distribution and offer benefits to the beneficiaries.

“The Presidential Staff Office has provided support, so that the BSU program can be implemented immediately and run effectively. The KSP also invites various elements of society to jointly monitor and support the implementation of this BSU program,” the KSP main expert staff remarked.
