NFT Pangolin Powered by Zetrix and Miss Universe Malaysia Unveil “MUMO NFTs” Inbox

Kuala Lumpur – Zetrix held a joint press conference event with global non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace, NFT Pangolin, and beauty pageant organiser, Miss Universe Malaysia Organization (MUMO), to introduce the collaboration between NFT Pangolin and MUMO on the creation of a series of NFT collectibles. The NFT collectibles, also known as the “MUMO NFTs”, are minted on NFT Pangolin powered by Zetrix.

The collaboration is in conjunction with MUMO’s recent announcement of the Top 15 finalists who have advanced to compete in the Miss Universe Malaysia 2022 for the crown and to represent the nation abroad in the world-renowned international Miss Universe pageant.

The press conference was held at Vogue Lounge, Kuala Lumpur, and was attended by Datin Elaine Daly, MUMO’s National Director; Mohamad Johan Nasir, Business Development Director (SEA) of NFT Pangolin; and fellow MUMO 2022 finalists. The event was jointly organised by Zetrix, MUMO and NFT Pangolin, while partners of the event include MYEG, MX Global, Vogue Lounge, 8SIAN, and HABIB.

During her speech, Datin Elaine was thrilled to reveal the organisation’s venture into the NFT space with its latest Miss Universe Malaysia 2022 pageant. With MUMO’s vision being to revolutionise pageants in Malaysia to be hip, urban, relevant and real, Datin Elaine views this collaboration as a way to fulfill the vision.

“With the whole world rapidly adapting to digital transformation, this is MUMO’s cue to join in and ride on the trend as well. By introducing and incorporating the concept of NFTs into the pageant, our latest move holds immense potential for not only the finalists, but for our audience and partners as well,” she says.

Additionally, Johan Nasir also expressed his excitement at working with the prestigious MUMO team and for NFT Pangolin to be part of the pageant competition.

“As some of you are aware, the Miss Universe Malaysia pageant has been going on for some time and together with MUMO, we are excited to work together to introduce NFTs to the pageantry this year. We are also happy that with these NFTs, they will spread the awareness of certain causes and can be

used to infuse the positive message of women empowerment in society via all the conscious contestants,” he says.

The MUMO NFTs, which were revealed by Johan Nasir during the event, include various collections with different utilities. The “Universe” Collection features the 15 finalists in celestial designs with a price range of 1-2 ZTX, which is approximately RM20, and has a voting mechanism connected to the Pageant’s Final Competition. Therefore, the finalists will automatically earn additional voting points depending on the popularity of their NFTs and will obtain the “wildcard” to bypass the elimination round.

There will also be the “Competition” Collection, which is limited-edition and available for auction only. The highest bids for the NFTs will boost the finalist’s votes with even higher points. Moreover, to further support MUMO’s compelling initiative, a whole new competition category and special subsidiary title, “Miss NFT”, has been created and will be presented to the finalist with the most popular NFT.

Additionally, it was also announced during the event that NFT Pangolin and MUMO are partnering with 8SIAN to design an exclusive, limited-edition collection after the crowning of the new Queen. 8SIAN (https://www.8siannft.com/) has previously created an NFT collection of 8,888 bespoke artworks of Asian women in the Web3 space to celebrate the diverse Asian culture and heritage. 8SIAN’s NFTs incorporate different cultures, unique characteristics and traits of women across Asia to put together authentic and meaningful digital artworks.

After a one-year hiatus due to the pandemic and with the upcoming Miss Universe Malaysia 2022 Pageant about to take place, MUMO would like to revolutionise this year’s pageant by embarking on the NFT journey and introducing future rewards and incentives for MUMO NFTs owners on NFT Pangolin. Proud owners can expect to enjoy privileges from the premier jeweller HABIB and receive exclusive invites to events, including a meet-and-greet with the Queens.

Readers who are interested in exploring the NFT space with MUMO can download the Zetrix Wallet at https://zetrix.com/wallet/ to discover Zetrix-based NFT collections via the NFT Pangolin gallery integrated within the mobile app wallet.

The booming popularity of NFTs within the past few years shows the public’s growing interest and willingness to explore the utilisation of NFTs. In addition to supporting artists and talents by providing them with more exposure and opportunity to sell their artwork online, investing in NFTs is relatively easy and safe for the public due to its usage of blockchain technology, such as Zetrix, which makes it highly accessible to everyone. Moreover, as NFTs are digitally held on a blockchain, their ownership and subsequent transfer of ownership are easy, transparent, and highly secure.
