Malaysia Airlines Launches MHflypass ASEAN Offering Worry-Free Travel Pass

The national carrier has just launched MHflypass ASEAN, a fixed-rate pass that allows multiple trips to exciting destinations all-year-round across the ASEAN region, starting with an introductory rate of RM1,299.

With the introduction of MHflypass ASEAN, passengers can now fly to 12 cities within ASEAN, through Malaysia Airlines’ extensive network. Each pass comes with six tickets; therefore, passengers are entitled to three return trips, or six one-way trips between the ASEAN cities of choice.

The ASEAN pass comes as an addition to the MHflypass line – introduced in April 2021 – which consists of flight coupons for domestic travel within Malaysia.

To cater to the needs of various types of travellers, MHflypass ASEAN is categorized into three zones. With an All-Year-Round fare of RM1,499 (introductory price: RM1,299), Zone 1 passes offer flights between Kuala Lumpur and nine cities in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar. Zone 2 passes enable travel between Kuala Lumpur and Manila, Hanoi, and Bali at RM2,099. Encompassing the widest choice of destinations, Zone 3 passes can be purchased at just RM2,699.

“As the nation progressively enters into endemicity, the expansion of MHflypass is very timely as it stands to offer flexible, convenient, and affordable travel for all. We are thrilled to add more destinations to our MHflypass offerings, extending beyond Malaysia,” Group Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, Lau Yin May said.

“This exciting expansion gives our passengers a greater range of cities to discover, simultaneously revitalizing the tourism industry across the ASEAN region,” Lau added.

MHflypass offers ultimate convenience and flexibility with a validity of one year, and no blackout periods i.e. pass holders can redeem flights all year round, even during peak periods or high seasons, subject to availability.

It also comes with unlimited flight changes, allowing passengers to alter their itinerary at no charge. Furthermore, should passengers arrive at the airport earlier, the included Go-Show Flexibility benefit allows them to board an earlier flight with the same travel itinerary.

The perks include priority check-in, priority boarding, and priority baggage drop for a truly seamless travel experience, be it for business or leisure. Tickets redeemed using MHflypass also come with complimentary meals, snacks, and beverages, along with extra baggage allowance: 7kg of cabin baggage and 35kg of check-in baggage.
