IKMa Launches The Tan Sri Noh Haji Omar Library

Institut Koperasi Malaysia (IKMa) organized the Hari Raya Aidilfitri Celebration and the Launch of the Tan Sri Noh Haji Omar Library. The ceremony was officiated by YB. Tan Sri Noh bin Haji Omar, Minister of the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP).

This library has been established in line with the vision of the establishment of the Malaysian Cooperative Institute itself, which is to empower the human capital of cooperatives towards excellence. The Tan Sri Noh Omar Library was established to support the training needs and courses conducted by IKMa. It is run by professional staff and has more than 30 thousand collections of monograph materials such as books, magazine -side publications, annual reports consisting of various subjects including specialized fields of entrepreneurship and cooperatives.

In line with the era of modernity, Tan Sri Noh Omar library operates using digital methods such as the use of sophisticated library systems and also in accordance with the library classification standard, the Library Congress Classification or LCC to manage and record all collection materials. A new -look library with the latest library appearance, more conducive and comfortable.

The collection of library materials has also been updated and added every year to strengthen its function as a reference center for cooperative resources throughout Malaysia, including in physical form or in digital form. With a capacity of over 100 people can be loaded at one time and has a workforce has a lot of experience in the field of libraries. The facilities provided are also quite accommodating for the needs of the users.

The choice of Tan Sri Noh Omar’s name is to appreciate the services of leaders who have contributed a lot in the field of cooperatives and also served as a cooperative minister twice, around 2008 and 2021.

The main goal of the Tan Sri Noh Omar Library is as a scientific center and dissemination of information on the main fields of cooperatives in Malaysia as well as, to maintain the sustainability and relevance of the library which has helped a lot in supporting the vision and mission of IKMa and the cooperative movement in Malaysia as a whole. .

In the same ceremony, a session was also held to hand over the letter of approval for the establishment of Universiti Keusahawanan Malaysia by YB. Tan Sri Noh bin Haji Omar to the Chairman of the Board of IKMa, YBhg. Datuk Wira (Dr.) Rosli bin Mat Hassan.

The purpose of the establishment of this university is to create employment opportunities for graduates in the cooperative sector as well as supply human resources from graduates to this sector.
