After Shanghai, Beijing To Also Start Easing Covid-19 Restrictions

With Shanghai on its way to lifting Covid-19 curbs, Beijing is also looking to remove some of the restrictions which have been imposed for more than a month.

Districts that are regarded as low risk will see life returning to normalcy as officials start removing some of the strict SOPs that were put in place as part of China’s Zero policy criteria.

Services like public transport including buses, taxis, and subways will resume operation while shopping malls will also be allowed to reopen. However, businesses like karaoke, tutor centres, and internet cafes will still have to remain closed.

Shops and schools in Shanghai, however, have reopened as the city slowly gets back to normalcy, cases have been coming down with Beijing recording 1700 cases from April 22 till now.
