Issue Of Hiring Workers From Three Countries Expected To Be Resolved Soon

The issue of hiring foreign workers from Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Cambodia is expected to be resolved in the near future, said Human Resources Minister, Datuk Seri M. Saravanan.

He said the final process that was being actively refined was such as technical matters, recruitment procedures, and the signing of memoranda between agencies or parties involved involving all countries.

“There are no more problems with all countries and everything is over,” he told reporters after presenting 100 laptops to B40 students here today.

Saravanan said so far, more than 200,000 applications for foreign workers for various sectors had been received from the three countries who had applied online.

According to him, for the entry or recruitment of workers from Indonesia, it involves procedures between the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower and a related agency there.

“The process involving workers from Bangladesh has also been completed. There is only one thing I have not completed… concluding Malaysia’s agreement with Cambodia to bring in Muslim maids. I will go there in July and most likely we will finish, ”he said.

Reportedly, the shortage of workers has caused many industries including business premises such as & nbsp; eateries to not be able to operate 24 hours although it can do so after the country enters an endemic transition phase.

In this regard, the Ministry of Human Resources decided & nbsp; some changes were made in terms of the implementation of the recruitment of foreign workers among employers including quarantine, standard operating procedures, quarters, training, labor rights and many more.

Earlier, the presentation of the laptops was to increase the marketability of siawazah as well as bridge the digital divide, especially for those with low incomes.
