Ramadan Bazaar, Aidilfitri 2022 Recorded Sales Value Of RM2.4 billion

The Ramadan and Aidilfitri Bazaars this year recorded a sales value of RM2.4 billion and created 156,361 jobs, according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM).

The findings are based on the Ramadan and Aidilfitri 2022 Bazaar Special Study Report which was first conducted by DOSM from April 3 to April 29, covering all bazaars registered with the local authority (PBT).

Chief Statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin in a statement today said Selangor dominated the sales value for the Ramadan and Aidilfitri bazaars with a sales record of RM0.6 billion with a total of 31,563 employees.

It was followed by Kuala Lumpur which recorded a sales value of RM0.4 billion with 10,993 employees and Johor RM0.3 billion (22,423 employees).

At the administrative district level, Petaling recorded the highest sales value & nbsp; with RM230.2 million, followed by Johor Bahru & nbsp; with RM126.3 million and Hulu Langat, RM117.9 million.

As for the performance of the Ramadan bazaar, Mohd Uzir said Selangor recorded the highest sales value of RM527.4 million, followed by Kuala Lumpur at RM359.2 million and Johor at RM257.4 million.

At the administrative district level, Petaling recorded the highest sales value of RM213.8 million, followed by & nbsp; & nbsp; Johor Bahru with RM113.6 million and Hulu Langat & nbsp; RM110.6 million.

Selangor recorded the highest number of Ramadan bazaar workers at 27,078 people, followed by Johor at 20,326 and Perak at 11,126.

As for the performance of the Aidilfitri bazaar, Mohd Uzir said Selangor recorded the highest sales value and number of bazaar employees at RM115.8 million and 4,485 people respectively.

At the administrative district level, Melaka Tengah recorded the highest sales value of RM61.8 million, followed by Klang RM59.4 million and Seberang Perai Utara RM23.5 million.
