Asian Stocks Rebounded on Dip-Buying, Eyes on US PMI

Kuala Lumpur, June 23 – Bursa Malaysia ended in range bound as the barometer index remained almost unchanged from yesterday’s closing, with the KLCI shed a mere 0.5 point with thin trading volume as the market participants continue to remain on the sideline waiting for fresh new leads. Meanwhile equities markets in the Asia-Pacific region have rebounded as bargain-hunting has kicked in after a rout on Wednesday. Asian equities had a responsive dip-buying today as the indices are in oversold region and are on value-fishing now.

Fed chairman Powell’s testimony has infused fresh blood into the risk-perceived assets. Given the hawkish guidance for July monetary policy a sure case, hence the investors now have shifted focus on the resilience of US economy to face the consequences of higher interest rates, with the upbeat growth prospects and tight labor market, which are supportive catalysts for the Fed to tighten the policy without much hesitation. Going forward, investors’ focus will remain on the US PMI.
