International Logistics Giant Katoen Natie Establishes APAC Support Centre In Johor

International logistics service provider and port operator Katoen Natie has established an APAC Support Centre (ASC) here in Johor Malaysia as a direct result of Malaysia’s recent trade mission to Europe where Ministers were able to engage and encourage Foreign Investment back in the country.

Mr. Gregoire Pascal, Ambassador of Belgium to Malaysia commented on ASC – “We are very pleased to see that Katoen Natie has selected Malaysia as its APAC Support Centre. Malaysia has a tremendous talent pool and we are very pleased to see Katoen Natie expanding its operations in Malaysia and the region. Katoen Natie is renowned for its logistics expertise in various industries and this is very compatible with Malaysia. It is great to see that they will train Malaysians to be part of their global team.”

Mr. Fabian Leroy, Vice President of Katoen Natie worldwide highlighted – “ASC will support our operations in the region and worldwide, and it can also function as a bridgehead for new operations and projects in Malaysia. It is a significant step for Katoen Natie and a path forward to grow our business and service our customers. We have been providing services in Malaysia and have worked with our Malaysian teams in Singapore for over two decades. Malaysia has a great talent pool and we are confident that our team at ASC will strongly support our teams in the region and also worldwide.” Lee Ting Han, Chairman of Johore State Investment, Trade and Consumer Affairs Committee also added to the statement announcing – “I want to thank Katoen Natie for their trust in Johor, Malaysia and I am confident that ASC will be a success. We are developing Iskandar Malaysia as a knowledge centre to support multinational companies in their growth.

Mr. Koen Cardon, CEO of Katoen Natie Singapore said a port delay in Los Angeles impacted their operations in Europe and Asia. As a global network, Katoen needs to have global support and be available to its customers 24 / 7. He added ASC will be an important cornerstone in the network of its Data Support Centres in Colombia, Macedonia and Moldovia and will allow the group to further grow its services for its customers worldwide.
