Info Tech And MMU SEAL MOU To Create Competent Workforce In The Human Resource Sector

Cloud HR software provider Info-Tech and Multimedia University (MMU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently, to bolster students’ development through a series of initiatives enabled by Info-Tech’s tools.

The MoU signing between Info-Tech and MMU is deemed a mutually beneficial partnership as both parties take strides to provide educational opportunities and industry experiences to the next generation while fostering a competent workforce for the industry.

Signing on behalf of Info-Tech was Mr. Peter Lee, the Chairman of Info-Tech, and, for MMU, was Professor Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, MMU’s President and Chief Executive Officer.

Since the onset of the pandemic, businesses and educators have increasingly embraced and relied on digital tools. This proves that digital transformation is no longer a trend; it is an essential imperative for us to adopt to stay afloat in these critical times.

Being in the HR industry for more than 25 years, Info-Tech still stays true to its vision, that giving back to the community is vital in shaping a strong digital society. With this vision in mind, Info-Tech works hand-in-hand with MMU by introducing Info-Tech Cloud HR Software as part of the curriculum for the students in the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons.) Human Resource Management programme.

This initiative will provide hands-on experience to the students through learning and practice using cloud HR software. In this challenging time, being a master in using cloud HR software will help to mould them to become well-versed leaders in the HR discipline.

Sharing in the joy, Mr. Peter Lee commented, “I have always been wanting to work with MMU in encouraging students to be more digitally savvy. With the input of our specialists into the syllabus, I believe the students are able to achieve a breakthrough in their capabilities and lead over their peers. This will help them to become future-ready in the face of the digitalisation.”

Further to that, Info-Tech is levelling up the digital game by offering industrial training opportunities to the students at MMU. Students will be able to safeguard their future careers by further honing their HR skills and knowledge from the top industrial players. The comprehensive industrial training will expose students to the real-life challenges in the HR division of a business. It broadens their knowledge and strengthens their digital skills which are essential for one to flourish in an ever-changing digital world.

Professor Mazliham was also very enthusiastic about the partnership. “I was very excited when I first heard about this mutually beneficial partnership. This long-term partnership renders a lot of industrial insights to the students while providing them a conducive environment to become more digitally mature through industrial training. As one of the Premier Digital Tech Institutes accorded by the Ministry of Higher Education and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), this partnership is in line with our mission of making sure our students are constantly staying at the forefront of this industry,” he said.

Professor Mazliham further affirmed that the MoU between MMU and Info-Tech is another testament to MMU’s strong industrial collaboration. Universities are one of the important players in producing top-notch graduates. The MoU exemplifies the collaboration between academia and industry; a higher educational institution and a private corporate organization to raise the bar for developing future-ready students for the benefit of the nation.
