Mustapha Denies Accusation Made By The MP Of Bagan Datuk

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) and member of  Parliament For Jeli  Datuk Mustapha Mohamad has vehemently denied the accusation made by the MP For Bagan Datuk that he has misappropriated the provisions channeled to UMNO Kelantan.

In a statement, Mustapha said that party funds were managed according to party guidelines including funds for an election which is managed by the Committee. He also denied that his participation in Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) was intended to avoid investigation by the parties in power.

He said that after GE-14, he was called to testify to authority twice, namely at the end of 2018 and in early 2019.

As a former Cabinet Member, he was asked to give evidence to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) related to the minutes of the Cabinet Meeting on the project Trans Sabah Gas Pipeline; and as the former Chairman of the State UMNO Liaison Body Kelantan, he had testified to the Royal Police Malaysia (PDRM) related to the funds put into the account Kelantan State UMNO Liaison Body charged obtained from 1MDB sources.

Mustapha said that allegations like these are intended to tarnish his reputation as a Member of the Cabinet and a Member of Parliament.
