KLCI Tumbled 12.22 Points While Asian Stock Closed Mixed

Kuala Lumpur, July 4 – Bursa Malaysia closed broadly lower on Monday, by shrinking 0.84% with anemic thin trading volume. Market breadth remained negative with decliners outpacing gainers. The FBM KLCI is expected to whipsaw within tight range as the overall market sentiment is still shrouded with gloom. Equities markets in the Asian region closed mixed exhibiting mixed responses to falling S&P 500 futures. Last week, the US dollar index (DXY) asset witnessed a steep fall on the weekend as the downbeat US Institute of Supply Management (ISM) triggered worries over recession. The economic data looked gloomy on all fronts: Manufacturing PMI, Employment Index, and New Orders Index – has trimmed the odds of a hawkish rate hike announcement by the Fed.

In the latest report by Bloomberg, it says “Foreign Investors Drained $40 Billion From Emerging Asia Last Quarter, and It Could Get Worse with Taiwan, South Korea, India saw biggest outflows last quarter.”
