MRC Contributed RM25,000 to Smallholders of Rubber and B40 Families

MRC together with the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities and the Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) channeled a contribution of RM25,000.00 to the community of rubber smallholders and B40 families in Bukit Payung.

This contribution was handed over by YB Datuk Hajah Zuraida Kamaruddin, Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities in conjunction with the Program Working Visit to the Rubber for Indigenous People (GUP) Project Site, Rubber Board Malaysia located in Bukit Payung, Alor Gajah.

A total of 50 people have received this donation in the form of food baskets consisting of basic foods such as rice, granulated sugar, wheat flour, cooking oil, and some other basic necessities as well as cash for helping to cover daily living expenses.

This donation is part of the MRC Caring Assistance program, one of the Social Responsibility initiatives, MRC Sustainability Division.

“Hopefully with the programs and initiatives by the agencies below Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities such as the Malaysian Rubber Board and the MRC can help smallholders of rubber and bring them closer together economic gaps as well as creating a balance in the upstream chain and downstream, in line with the Ministry’s aspirations to transform the industry rubber in Malaysia “, said YB Dr. Daroyah Alwi, Chairman of the MRC who was also present same in this working visit program.
