MOH To Introduce Framework On Registration Of CBD Products By Next Year

The Ministry of Health will soon announce a framework that will allow certain cannabidiol (CBD) products to be registered by next year.

The framework, according to its minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, would be presented sometime this year, and the ministry will invite proposal submissions for CBD products that should be registered.

According to Khairy, CBD products should not be used for self-medication, and they will not be sold over-the-counter and must be prescribed by a healthcare professional.

He stated that training and instruction for medical officials would be essential to ensure they understand the situations that permitted the prescription of CBD products.
