Boustead Properties recently reaffirmed its commitment to environment, social, and governance (ESG) values with a collaboration with FRIM Incorporated Sdn Bhd for the conservation and preservation of a first-of-its-kind 2.1km river park development in its township development, Mutiara Hills in Semenyih.
The river park will contribute towards building a stronger sense of community in the 1,200-acre smart, integrated township which is being developed in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG).
The collaboration was marked with a signing of collaboration by Boustead Properties Berhad’s Chief Executive Officer Khairul Azizi Ismail and Chief Operating Officer Eason Phan, together with FRIM Incorporated’s Chief Executive Officer Wan Jusaini Rizal and Project Lead Dr Ahmad Nazaradi at the developer’s Green Carnival event at Mutiara Hills.
The event also saw Mutiara Hills being awarded with the GreenRE certification by Ir Ashwin Thurairajah, Executive Director of GreenRE, for being an exceptional township development that prioritises the importance of sustainability and eco-friendly principles in its design and construction.
Khairul Azizi said, “The river park and green certification are testaments to how we build sustainable real estate by upholding ESG values. As a responsible developer, we can minimise the negative impact on the environment, while allowing our developments and communities to thrive to their fullest. We will continue to explore and harness various sources of renewable energy to achieve a near-zero carbon development with smart mobility, efficient water management system and other environment-friendly features to promote liveability.”
A tree-planting activity also took place with the senior management of Boustead Properties, FRIM Incorporated and GreenRE planting several tree seedlings to signify their joint efforts towards creating sustainable green living.
In addition, those who attended the Green Carnival had an opportunity to participate in numerous activities such as terrarium workshop, nursery plant showcase, and kite-flying among others.
Khairul Azizi added, “The Green Carnival was aimed at showcasing the importance of the environment and community in our flagship township development in Semenyih. By emphasising ESG values, it allowed us to depict the foundation of the Mutiara Hills development which embodies protecting the environment, promoting mobility and nurturing community engagement.”
