Projects To Reviewed And Non-Priority Projects Identified: Mustapha Mohammad

Further to the austerity measures announced earlier, Minister In The Prime Minister’s Department (Economy)  Datuk Seri Mustapha Mohammad said at a meeting held today that projects that are to be reviewed and non-priority projects whose implementation is to be reviewed were decided.

In a statement, he said that this was decided in a meeting that was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Finance (MOF), Ministry of Works (KKR), Implementation Coordination Unit, Department Prime Minister (ICU), and Public Works Department (JKR).

He said that the projects that have been issued tender advertisements, Letters of Intent, and Acceptance letters will be continued as this is important for supporting Government efforts to spur post-Covid-19 economic recovery.

He said engagement sessions between MOF, EPU and ICU with all ministries will be held next week to provide clarification on the proposed review of project implementation priorities construction in 2022.

He said that the government will ensure that these austerity measures are implemented does not affect the country’s economic recovery and prosperity efforts the people
