Ablr’s ‘Buy Now Pay Later’ Service Is Now Live In Malaysia

Ablr, a fintech company that provides Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) service, is now live in Malaysia.

The product and services offered on the Ablr platform encompass key merchant categories that reflects its philosophy of enabling consumers to achieve life-fulfilling goals over time, covering Home and Family, Health and Wellness, Education and Enrichment and Travel and Experience.

“Ablr is excited to mark its Malaysia debut as a BNPL with a difference, offering a range of life-fulfilling and life-enhancing products and services to meet the fast-evolving and discerning needs of Malaysians. More and more people are exploring new ways to pay that are convenient, safe, sustainable, more budget-friendly with great deals, and together with our partners, we look forward to serving this untapped, underserved market for big ticket essentials,” said Amanda Chin, CEO of Ablr Malaysia.

Amanda Chin added, “With Ablr, consumers can now pay for their families’ healthcare treatments, their children’s online music classes or upskilling courses for themselves, home living equipment in building a cosier home to memorable travel experiences with easy, fixed monthly instalments, from 30 days up to 60 months, depending on the plans on offer by our growing list of merchants.”

Ablr currently has a network of over 30 brands in Malaysia and Singapore spanning over 250 merchant points. This includes KHIND, a leading manufacturer and distributor of electrical home appliances, Spine and Joint Asia, premier and integrated chiropractic and physiotherapy clinics, OSIM, a leader in healthy lifestyle products, BORDERS, an urban bookstore chain, Beyond Insight, investing and trading psychology bootcamps in Asia, and String Soul, an online music school for students of all ages, to name a few. 

On its growth plans, Amanda Chin said, “Our focus is to grow partnerships to provide even more choice and convenience to Malaysian consumers while also enabling them to spend more responsibly and manage finances better in the palm of their hands. First-time users can download the Ablr mobile app and from there, will need to complete a quick and easy onboarding process by keying in their mobile number, verifying their identity and linking their Ablr account with either a debit or credit card. To shop using Ablr, customers will need to scan a QR code or will be directed to a payment link. Customers can then proceed to make payment for their first instalment after which there will be recurring monthly payments until the product or service purchased is fully paid for.
