Langkawi And its 99 Islands, Awarded Best In Southeast Asia

Langkawi and its cluster of 99 islands have been awarded Asia’s Best Awards 2022 for being one of the Best Islands in Southeast Asia.

This tropical gem that is a top attraction in Malaysia is known for its mangroves rich with flora and fauna, unique culinary scene, duty-free shopping outlets, and kid-friendly attractions.

Ranked number five in the list among the likes of Phuket, Koh Samui and Bali, Langkawi is said to have much to offer for tourists and visitors of all ages. Its rugged beauty is evident in waterfalls, hot springs, and forest parks. The island is home to the only site in Southeast Asia that has been granted the highly coveted UNESCO Geopark status, thanks to its array of impressive rock formations surrounded by ancient jungle.

Langkawi Development Authority said “It has been an honour and we take great pride in having attained this award, as one of the best islands in Southeast Asia. This award is a testament to our continuous efforts and dedication, especially throughout the pandemic when tourist arrival on the island was at its lowest. said Chief Executive Officer, Encik Nasaruddin Abdul Muttalib.

Adding to accoladed for the island, Four Seasons Resort Langkawi was also awarded the Best Beach or Upcountry Hotel in Malaysia 2022.

Blessed with warm weather all year round, the island makes for a fun destination for those that are looking to unwind or satiate their adventurous side with scuba diving or snorkelling.
