Singapore Recalls Haagen Dazs Ice Cream After Detecting Pesticide Presence

The Singapore Food Authority has ordered a recall of two more Haagen Dazs ice cream products due to the presence of ethylene oxide, a pesticide that is not permitted to be used in food.

The two implicated products are Haagen Dazs Cookies and Cream 473ml pints with an expiry date of May 2027 and Belgium Chocolate 100ml mini cup with an expiry date of Jun 2023. The authority confirmed that both items were from France.

In a media statement, the SFA said although there is no immediate risk to consumption of food with a low level of ethylene oxide long-term exposure can cause serious implications.

Currently, the recall is ongoing.
