CU Opened Its 100th Store in Mid Valley

Korea’s number one and largest convenience store, CU is stamping its position in Malaysia with the opening of its 100th store and flagship outlet at Mid Valley Megamall Kuala Lumpur!

With its recent first anniversary celebration, CU Malaysia continues to create a K-wave phenomenon where the flagship outlet offers a large floor area of 2818 sq ft with an open space concept and lifestyle centric proposition.

In conjunction with the 100th store opening, CU Malaysia is also revealing its proud collaboration with Pak Jong-won – known as Korea’s most famous food and beverage expert with more than 5 million YouTube subscribers where it will be made available at CU outlets offering ready to eat meals including the popular in demand gimbap such as Tartar Sauce Tuna Samgak Gimbap, Burning Chicken Cutlet Samgak Gimbap, Long Chicken Cutlet Gimbap and Soy Sauce Chicken Gimbap. CU’s popular drinks like Jochiwon Peach Tea, Goguma Latte and iced Latte to name a few now come with a concoction of ingredients including Brown Sugar Jelly Ball and White Jelly Balls.

At the launch, CU also served a preview of its upcoming Krispy Chikin menu where it will be released at CU outlets from 15 August onwards where consumers can get delectable treats of crispy fried chicken available in sichuan spicy, tom yam, zesty
cream and rose flavor.

Also for the first time freshly prepared hot food were introduced where Mid Valley outlet is the first to serve this menu including Egg Waffle with Soft Serve, Egg Waffle with Honey Butter Dak Gang Jeong, Mushroom Cheese Meltz, Smoken Chicken & Mushroom Meltz and Chicken Wings. These hot food items will be made available at other CU outlets in stages.

Aside from the rapid expansion in the Klang Valley, CU has also expanded its footprint to more townships and airports in Malaysia including Alor Gajah (Melaka), Teluk Intan (Perak), Sungai Petani (Kedah), Nilai (Negeri Sembilan), Bayan Lepas (Pulau Pinang) and KLIA2 Sepang. Since the first store opened in April 2021, CU has been operated by Mynews Holdings Berhad in Malaysia and looks forward to opening 500 stores in 5 years by 2026.
