According to Selangor Menteri Besar, YAB Dato’ Seri Amiruddin bin Shari, the state is promoting Selangor to be the hub of aviation industry, as “it remains the location of choice for Business and General Aviation at Subang Airport and since the year 2020 to date, there has been a significant increase in the presence of Aerospace and Aviation companies in the state.”

The aviation show is held on 8 till 10 September. It is hosted by the Selangor state government and organised by Invest Selangor.

The Selangor Aviation Show 2022 (SAS2022) is officiated by His Highness Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, the Crown Prince of Selangor.

The event focuses on the business and general aviation industry and aims to be a networking event for the aerospace industry players.

With the aim to re-energise the aviation-related business in the region, SAS2022 is designed as a platform for all relevant stakeholders to network, dialogue, and share knowledge and offerings.

Also present at the SAS2022 was Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz. In his speech, he said that “the Government is aware of the challenges faced by the local aviation industry, and is looking into ways to help the industry address them.”

“The Government has taken note of the challenges, particularly in terms of business expansion and retention, as well as the lengthy bureaucracy that may have prevented foreign and domestic investors from doing business in Malaysia,” he was quoted as saying in his speech.

He also stressed in his speech, “Rest assured that we are working to address these issues”.
