Hong Leong Asset Declares Income Distribution of 6 Sen

Hong Leong Asset Management Bhd has declared a gross income distribution of six sen per unit for Hong Leong Asia Pacific Equity Fund, for the period commencing 1 January 2022 to 31 July 2022.

The fund is managed by Hong Leong AM’s external fund manager – Sumitomo Mitsui DS Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited, a wholly-owned overseas subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui DS Asset Management Company Limited which has more than 30 years of experience and over 270 investment professionals across Tokyo, London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Shanghai.

Hoo See Kheng, Chief Executive Officer of Hong Leong AM said, “We are delighted to announce the first distribution payout to HLAPEF investors. Despite the headwinds, we remain broadly favourable to Asia-Pacific’s growth prospects due to, among others, the resumption of factory operations in Southeast Asia, an increase in inventory restocking demand, and steady exports. Tapping into SMDAMHK’s investment capabilities and knowledge, it is our belief that the Fund will see potential sustainable growth, especially during the volatile period.”

Kenji Hashizume, Senior Portfolio Manager of SMDAMHK said, “While uncertainties and volatility are likely to remain due to the COVID-19, inflation and geopolitical factors, we are optimistic on the economic recovery and will continue to focus on companies with sustainable earnings growth, optimal shareholder return policy and reasonable valuation.”
