Japan National Tourism Organization Kuala Lumpur Office (JNTO) reported the recently organised Japan Travel Fair 2022 saw over 60,000 visitors attending over the Malaysia Day weekend, a clear indication of the interest Malaysian have in the country.
“Since September 7th, the hurdles to travel to Japan have been lowered further, with the elimination of the need for a pre-departure PCR test and an accompanying tour guide. We also hope that this event will encourage as many Malaysians as possible to consider visiting Japan and that it will strengthen the friendship between Japan and Malaysia,” said Executive Director of JNTO KL, Ms Fumi Matsumoto.
The three-day event showcased a variety of cultural activities such as taiko drumming, daily lucky draws, Japanese food booths, workshops, and many more held to immerse all visitors. Visitors have also received some travel tips through the travel-related stage contents, such as travel experience sharing sessions by Malaysian influencers staying in Japan.
Ten local travel agencies in Malaysia showcased their latest travel packages, and several prefectures in Japan are also putting more effort into the Muslim market recently by creating more Muslim-friendly itineraries and services.
