SKP Resources has announced that its Executive Chairman cum Managing Director Dato’ Gan Kim Huat had passed away peacefully.
The Board in its statement expressed its deepest sorrow for the passing away of Dato’ Gan and conveys its deepest condolences to his family. At the same time, the Board also expresses its deepest gratitude for the enormous contribution to the Group by Dato’ Gan over the years.
Starting out as Sin Kwang Plastics, the company established its roots in Johor Bahru in 1974 with only two injection moulding machines. The growth since has been phenomenal with Sin Kwang Plastics conceiving and producing a plethora of general plastic products that have become household mainstays.
Today, SKP is a stalwart in the region, having grown to be a public-listed company on the main board of Bursa Malaysia. It has more than 1 million combined square feet of plastic manufacturing facilities in Johor Bahru housing more than 250 of the latest injection moulding machines, as well as a workforce of 2,500 which still grows as operations expand to meet the needs of clients.
