Malaysia Export Trade Mission To Philipines Bears Fruit With RM67 Million Sales

Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation together with the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives’ Export Acceleration Mission to Manila, Philippines was a success with RM67.05million worth of sales recorded.

The objective of the mission was in facilitating the exports of Malaysia’s products and services into the Philippines, more than 140 business meetings were arranged between 12 Malaysian companies with potential partners.

A total of 12 business delegates from the Food and Beverage, Healthcare, ICT, and Biotechnology sectors were given exposure to the country’s import rules and regulations, business requirements, characteristics of the local markets as well as consumer trends through informative seminars, site visits, and networking opportunities.

 “This strategic collaboration between MATRADE, KUSKOP and SME Bank signifies the importance of synergy within the trade ecosystem in strengthening Malaysia’s trade and most importantly, the competitiveness of our exporters globally”, said Abu Bakar Yusof, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Exporters Development) of MATRADE, who led the mission.

This year, the trade agency under the Ministry of International Trade said if will continue to establish and leverage strategic collaborations with various ministries, agencies, foreign embassies, and trade industry associations in implementing export-related programmes to create more opportunities for Malaysian business communities.
