Malaysia’s number one car brand, Perodua has launched its first hybrid vehicle the Activa Hybrid which the group is releasing on a limited basis.
President and CEO, Datuk Zainal Abidin said the national car maker only plans to make 300 units as part of its transition towards producing fully electric vehicles in the near future. The release is also to gather intelligence from the selected to understand driving behaviours, especially in condensed areas like Klang Valley, Penang, and Johor Bharu.
The hybrid model uses the engine to charge the battery which drives the wheels, the 1.2L vehicle can reach up to 31 kilometers with 1 litre of fuel.
Perodua is offering the Activa on a subscription basis, where customers can pay RM500 a month for 5 years or 100, 000 kilometers.
