AME Hopeful of Industrial Property Sales Target of RM250 Million

The integrated industrial space solutions provider AME is optimistic of achieving its target industrial property sales of approximately RM250 million in the financial year ending 31 March 2023 (FY2023), on the back of increasing foreign and domestic direct investments (FDI and DDI) into its industrial parks.

For the record, its FY2023 sales target is higher than RM168.4 million recorded in the previous financial year (FY2022).

As at the first quarter ended 30 June 2022, AME had secured RM64.8 million in new sales and RM124.6 million in bookings for its customized industrial park properties. The cumulative sum of RM189.4 million, if fully converted, makes up a healthy proportion of its FY2023 sales target.

Johor recorded the highest number of approved investments in the country at RM60.9 billion for the first half of 2022, surging 822% from last year, according to Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA).

“AME has grown commendably as we gain international repute for our award-winning and sustainable industrial parks, which are increasingly sought after by prominent organisations seeking a reliable and growth-ready place of operations in Southeast Asia,” Kelvin Lee Chai, Group Managing Director of AME commented on the future prospects during the AGM (Annual General Meeting).

“Our improved sales achievement in FY2022 even in the midst of international border closures speaks volumes of the immense demand for well-managed integrated industrial parks. Additionally, the state of Johor, where our industrial parks are currently located, has been recipient of the highest approved investments via FDI in Malaysia in the first half of 2022, further reinforcing our prospects,” he elaborated.

“With Malaysia’s international borders reopened since April 2022, we are seeing an uptrend in enquiries as well as investments from Malaysia and across Asia including China and Singapore. We are confident that this will enhance our prospects for FY2023,” he concluded.

On 27 September 2022, AME declared a special single tier dividend of 1.0 sen per share in respect of FY2023 to reward its shareholders. The ex-date and payment date are scheduled on 12 October 2022 and 28 October 2022 respectively.
