Malaysia Airlines Congratulates CAAM On Cat1 Reinstatement

Malaysia Aviation Group has congratulated the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia on the reinstatement of the country’s air-safety ranking to Category 1 by the United States Federal Aviation Authority.

The national airline is pleased to be able to support CAAM by being part of a Task Force that was formed to identify root causes, corrective action plans, and corrective measures in response to the downgrade in 2019.

MAG said it is also confident that CAAM under the leadership of Datuk Captain Chester Voo and the rest of the management team, will be able to make significant contributions to the development of civil aviation’s safety and security in Malaysia.

The Ministry of Transport under Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong took on the mission to resolve issues that removed Malaysia from the FAA list and gave the newly appointed Chairman and CEO a mandate to fix those issues. The team got to work immediately in 2020 and within 24 months and impressing the FAA managed to get Malaysia back into Category 1.
