MCC Malaysia Scored 89% in QLASSIC, Highest in History

MCC Malaysia has obtained an 89% Quality Assessment System in Construction (QLASSIC) score for the construction of The Face 2 Platinum Victory Suites, the highest rating recorded in history under the high-rise residential category, since the system was introduced in 2007 by the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB).

To recap, Quality Assessment System in Construction (QLASSIC) is a construction industry standard introduced by CIDB to independently measure, assess and evaluate the workmanship quality of a building construction work according to the requirements of Construction Industry Standard (CIS 7:2014).

It is considered to be the de facto benchmark for construction projects to ensure that a development project adheres to all the workmanship quality standards and assurances through a strict evaluation process.

“At MCC Malaysia, we always take great pride in our work and we are proud to have set this record score in the CIDB’s QLASSIC metric as the assessment was not an easy process which involved strict, rigorous and meticulous evaluations of over 600 materials and 300 units,” Li An Wei, Managing Director of MCC Malaysia said.

“We have reached this historic milestone with The Face 2 Platinum Victory Suites project thanks to the passion and professionalism the team has demonstrated, and to receive the highest ever QLASSIC score is a testament to the Company’s commitment and exemplary pursuit in workmanship quality in building construction,” she remarked.

“This achievement will play a big part in motivating the team to continue to strive for excellence and become the contractor of choice for all building works.” Li added.

“I applaud MCC for joining the ranks of established contractors who are regular subscribers of QLASSIC and believe in the importance of quality. The achievement of quality made by MCC for The Face 2 Platinum Victory Suites today is definitely one that should be celebrated,” CIDB Chief Executive Datuk Ir. Ahmad ‘Asri Abdul Hamid said.

“I believe that your achievement will serve as a role model for this industry and be a catalyst for all developers and construction companies to pursue quality in workmanship for all their building projects,” Datuk Ahmad Asri added.

The Face 2 Platinum Victory Suites is a 51-storey luxury condominium developed by Platinum Victory Property, completed in July 2022. With a total of 1025 units, it comes with a variety of facilities including an infinity pool with a 180° view of the KL city skyline.

“It is very heartening for us to witness first-hand the enormous passion MCC Malaysia invested in the project. The team has demonstrated a very strong commitment in workmanship quality and timeliness throughout the project. We applaud their performance and are proud that the construction for The Face Suites development has received the ‘QLASSIC’ certification with the highest score ever recorded under the high-rise residential category,” Datuk Alex Tan Ai Chong, Co-founder of Platinum Victory Property said.

MCC Malaysia is a wholly-controlled subsidiary of China’s state-owned enterprise, China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC Group), a FORTUNE Global 500 company listed in both Hong Kong and Shanghai Stock Exchange.
