Defence Ministry Obtains Allocation Of RM17.4bil Under Budget 2023

The Defence Ministry will get a total allocation of RM17.4bil, says Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.

The Finance Minister said RM4bil was for procurement and maintenance of Armed Forces assets and RM118mil for maintenance of Rumah Keluarga Angkatan Tentera (RKAT).

RM47mil has been allocated for two additional field hospitals in Kluang and Kota Kinabalu to face any national disaster.

Fifty ambulances will also be placed at army bases to assist in any disaster aid.

The ministry has also received additional funds in the form of RM485 million for the maintenance of all MMEA ships and boats.

Meanwhile, RM431 million has been allocated to procure new assets for the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and RM42 million to upgrade police quarters.

A sum of RM28 million has also been allocated to upgrade prison staff quarters.
