KLCI Retreated Ahead of US Job Data

Bursa Malaysia ended the Friday morning trading session in negative territory, the main index FBM KLCI ceded 11.34 points or 0.8% to 1,409.09, from Thursday’s closing of 1,420.43.

The retreat of KLCI was in line with the downtrend on regional bourses as investors wait anxiously for US jobs report later on Friday.

Market breadth was negative with decliners outnumbered gainers 383 to 167, while 474 counters were unchanged.

Trading volume stood at 1.21 billion units with total value of RM733.37 million. 

Some of the top gainers for the morning session were Nestle, Batu Kawan, Hextar Technologies, Kotra Industries, Hong Leong Financial Group.

Whilst top decliners were PETRONAS Dagangan, Panasonic Manufacuring, KL-Kepong, Telekom Malaysia, F&N.
