No Recall Of Mi Sedaap In Malaysia: MOH

Ministry of Health, Director-General, Dr. Noor Hisham.

The Ministry of Health has issued a press statement with regard to the issue of instant noodle brand Mi Sedaap Korean Spicy Soup and Korean Chicken Soup which is being recalled in Singapore due to the presence of pesticides in the product.

Director General, Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah in the statement said Malaysia will not be recalling the products as the expiry date of the batch mentioned in the Singapore Food Authority statement which is March and May 2023 are not available in the Malaysian market.

Even though the brand is sold in Malaysia the particular batch is not in the market hence there will be no directive to recall the brand from being sold. However, MOH said it will be monitoring the situation and will look out for any instances that could see the presence of the batch.

The chemical content found in Mi Sedaap ethylene oxide is said to be a pesticide that is not supposed to be used for the food item and was found in the batch in Singapore.
