Singapore Bans Two More Variety Of Mie Sedaap For Pesticide Traces

After detecting pesticide content in the Korean Spicy Soup and Korean Chicken Soup batch of the Mie Sedaap instant noodle, Singapore Food Authority has found traces of ethylene oxide in the MieSedaap Curry and Mie Sedaap Soto batch as well.

Both these varieties are now banned in Singapore and the SFA has instructed local distributor Arklife Distributor to recall them from stores.

This time the batches which are being recalled have two different expiry dates, December 11, 2022, and February 2023. The brand which is also distributed in Malaysia however was not banned by the Ministry of Health as Korean Spicy and Chicken Soup batch in the market did not belong to the February 2023 expiry.

However, with the latest detection by SFA, it is concerning that instant noodle is still being distributed in Malaysia after more flavours are having traces of the dangerous chemical.
