CIMB Artober Returns For The Third Year From 20 To 24 October

CIMB launched CIMB Artober Art & Soul and CIMB Artober Fashion Week, two new programmes under its annual CIMB  Artober banner. The CIMB Artober is the Group’s annual three-month art, culture and lifestyle initiative that aims to add vigour and vitality, whilst underpinning CIMB’s commitment to strengthening the local arts and cultural ecosystem. 

This year’s instalment will see two art fairs being held simultaneously at Menara KEN TTDI and Glo Damansara Mall from 20 to 24 October. CIMB Artober 2022 will once again highlight some of the most creative and progressive artistic minds in painting, visual art, and fashion,  creating a marketplace to enhance and empower the local creative industry. The event will see 

15 of Malaysia’s most reputable art galleries showcasing over 150 artists with more than 600 new artworks, which will be made available to the public for viewing and purchase.  

A line-up of events has been specially curated to cater to arts, culture and heritage fans, as well as the public. The CIMB Artober Art & Soul fair, which is held at Menara KEN TTDI will feature new seminal artworks from 10 participating art galleries: A+ Works of Art, Artas Galeri, Art WeMe  Contemporary Gallery, CORE Design Gallery, La Galerie Du Monde, G13 Gallery, Rissim  Contemporary, Suma Orientalis, TAKSU, and ZHAN Art | Space. Apart from contemporary art, textile and heritage enthusiasts will have the opportunity to get a close-up view of the private collection of Kain Tenun DiRaja Pahang and paintings belonging to KDYMM Seri Paduka Baginda  Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Binti Almarhum Al  Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj at the ‘Pahang Pavilion’.  

In addition, visitors will also be able to enjoy an exciting series of fashion shows featuring the  latest Resort & Art-to-Wear collections by some of the country’s leading designers at the CIMB  Artober Fashion Week, namely Anuar Faizal, CARRO, Masyadi Mansoor, NR Exclusive, Pink  Jambu, Radzuan Radziwill, and SriCandy. The collections will be made available for purchase  and pre-order during the event.  

Simultaneously, an exhibition displaying artworks submitted for the Malaysia Emerging Artist Award (MEA), an art competition founded by Bayu Utomo Radjikin and supported by CIMB  Foundation, will be available at Glo Damansara Mall for the public to enjoy and appreciate works  by talented Malaysian emerging artists.

15 – 24 October 2022: Malaysia Emerging Artist (MEA) Award by CIMB Foundation  Venue: Glo Damansara Mall  

A biennial art competition for Malaysia’s young emerging artists founded in 2009, providing a  platform for Malaysian young artists to catapult their careers in the competitive local and international landscape. Highlighting works by Malaysian contemporary artists of the future, 168  works by 66 artists will be displayed and available for purchase at the event.  

20 – 24 October 2022: CIMB Artober Art & Soul (11.00 am – 8.00 pm)  Venue: Menara KEN TTDI  

Inaugural biennial art fair featuring new seminal works by important local contemporary artists from 10 renowned Malaysian galleries including A+ Works of Art, Core Design Gallery, G13  Gallery and TAKSU. Art lovers may seize the opportunity to own works of master artists such as  Dato’ Tajuddin Ismail, Ahmad Fuad Osman, Rafiee Ghani, Husin Hourmain, Kow Leong Kiang, Masnoor Ramli Mahmud, Raduan Man, Suhaimi Fadzir and many more. The art fair will also host the ‘Pahang Pavilion’ that displays heritage textiles such as tenun Pahang DiRaja and paintings from the private collection of KDYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong. 

20 – 23 October 2022: CIMB Artober Fashion Week  

Venue: Menara KEN TTDI  

Resort and art-to-wear collections by local designers from Datuk Radzuan Radziwill, Pink Jambu,  Anuar Faizal, as well as guest designers from Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam will be featured. Attendees can expect design inspirations from Malaysia’s rich batik heritage and collaborations with local contemporary artists, as well as fascinating elements of inspiration from the rich cultural traditions from around the region. Entry by invitation only.  

The CIMB Artober 2022 is made possible through collaborations with CENDANA and Yayasan  Hasanah (TripART), venue partners such as KEN Holdings and Glomac Berhad; Auto Bavaria;  Noir Cosmetics; and make up academies, namely S&Co and Kai Image Academy.
