A microcredit financing program of RM1,000 to RM100,000 is one of the initiatives of the Selangor Government to help small entrepreneurs grow their businesses and increase capital.

As a leader in micro-credit, Yayasan Hijrah Selangor (Hijrah Selangor) offers eight loan schemes to increase income and get out of the shackles of difficulties including during the pandemic.

The eight programs include I-Bisnes, Zero to Hero, Go Digital, Niaga Darul Ehsan (NaDI) i-Lestari, i-Agro, i-Bermusim and the Selangor Indian Entrepreneur Development (Sitham) program.

The response to the program has been very encouraging since it was launched in 2015. More than RM725 million in funding was channeled to 56,470 small entrepreneurs until last September.

In addition to loans, Hijrah Selangor also offers training, entrepreneurship development programs and financial management to strengthen business knowledge.

The entrepreneurship compass program was created to guide entrepreneurs with more integrity and professionalism and set the direction in the business they are working on.

Here are the reactions of some entrepreneurs (between October 2020 and October 2022) who received the benefits of the scheme and successfully ‘migrated’ from the difficulties encountered.

“Help from Hijrah Selangor helped me increase the nursery business from a terraced house to a bigger building, recently we added more classes to provide comfort to students, babies and staff.

“I like the way Hijrah Selangor always follows the development of our business, they will help traders have potential by offering additional financing and training in addition to recognizing successful participants”
