Revenue Collection Exceeds Target, MB Giving Back To People

Selangor manages to record a 5 percent growth despite the country’s overall growth being recorded at 3.1 percent, said Chief Minister Dato Seri Amiruddin Shari. He said the state’s economy remains competitive even though the national economy was severely affected and suffered a decline during the pandemic.

Concurrently, the State Government also recorded encouraging revenue collection and exceeded the target for the third year in a row. The CM said the surplus will be returned to the people via welfare programs. Under the Iltizam Selangor Penyayang programme, the state through various agencies and subsidiaries presented 44 welfare programs that are designed to assist the people.

The Iltizam Selangor Penyayang was restructured from the People’s Care Initiative through an allocation of RM600 million so that more residents can benefit from the benefits provided by the State Government. The people’s aid package outlined six initiatives, namely Selangor People’s Empowerment Initiative, Selangor Health Initiative, Selangor Education Initiative, Selangor Housing Initiative, Selangor Entrepreneurship Initiative, and Selangor Child-Friendly Initiative.
