MIPFM Launches Its 6th MIPFM Annual Conference 2022 

The 6th MIPFM annual conference with the theme ‘Smart and Sustainable Property & Facility Management’ was held at Pullman Hotel Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.

The Conference was attended by approximately 200 delegates from the industry, government and academia and was organised by the Malaysian Institute of Property and Facility Managers (MIPFM).

The opening ceremony was officiated by Yang Berusaha Chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Nurahim bin Hj Abdul Rahim, the Deputy Director of Malaysia Anti-Corruption Academy (International).

The Keynote speech delivered by Yang Berusaha Dr. Kassim Noor Mohamed, the Academic Advisor of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) & the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Academy (MACA) on Ethics and the Integrity of Property and Facility managers are highly significant for the practitioners to uphold the integrity of the property management profession.

Dr. Kassim Noor Mohamed said in his keynote speech that there must be a strong commitment to a culture in which issues of integrity and professional ethics can be raised and discussed openly. Your Code of Integrity exists to ensure that the highest standards of integrity are applied to all your business dealings and activities, in accordance with best practices.

While, Datuk Sr Haji Kamarulzaman said in his welcoming speech that “Smart and Sustainable Property & Facility Management” has the potential to generate better economic, social and environmental value through integrated property & facility management services, infrastructure, and digital technologies. A Forum on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Management of Real Assets is organised as part of this conference programme in line with the conference theme.

“Property and Facility Managers has an enormous role to play in sustainable development now and in our future society. Caretakers of these buildings and their operations can greatly contribute to reducing their carbon footprint. 38% of CO2 is thought to come from buildings. Sustainable property & facility management (SFM) is a unique process that offers a property manager/facility manager the authority to make structural, architectural, and operational changes to reduce the negative impact of buildings on their occupants and the environment,” said Sr David Looi, the conference Orginising Chairman in his Opening speech.

During the press conference, the Malaysian Institute of Property and Facility Managers (MIPFM) with the CSS Strata Management have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to continue to offer a comprehensive package specially designed for MIPFM members.

The MoU aims to further strengthen mutual support and to have a smart partnership for both parties where CSS is the recommended Property Management System (PMS) provider for MIPFM members.

CSS is a web-based property management system with over 20 years of operational track record suitable for Property Managers, Developers, JMB and MC.
