Selangor Records Nearly RM5 Billion In Investment Value, 118 Approved Manufacturing Projects

The Selangor government has recorded RM4.88 billion in investment value with 118 approved manufacturing projects from January to June this year, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

“Of the total value, as much as RM1.63 billion was derived from domestic investments while RM3.255 billion is from foreign investments, according to the Selangor Journal.

“The economic growth charted in the first six months of this year has created approximately 4,944 potential job opportunities,” he said during the tabling of the 2023 Selangor Budget at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly, here today.

Although data from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority indicated rather slow growth in the second quarter of 2022, Amirudin said the state government is confident it is able to achieve its RM10 billion investment target for this year.

“Our confidence is due to new investment project proposals, and additions to existing investments that are being monitored by the state government,” he said.
