China Reports 35,183 Cases, High Numbers For 3 Consecutive Days

China is seeing a surge in Covid-19 cases as the country prepares for another possible lockdown across main cities, for the past 3 consecutive days the cases have been in the region of over 30,000.

On Friday numbers hit a new high of 35,183 of which 3474 were symptomatic reported by the National Health Commission.

The day earlier, the country recorded 32, 943 of which 3103 were symptomatic and 29,840 were asymptomatic infections which China counts separately.

Mega-cities continue to struggle to contain the outbreaks with the southern city of Guangzhou and the southwestern city of Chongqing recording the bulk of the cases.

Guangzhou with a population of 19 million reported 361 locally transmitted symptomatic and 7058 asymptomatic cases compared with 271 and 7267 cases the day before.
