Huawei Malaysia Sealed MoU with Progressture Power and JJ-LAPP to Advance Green Digital Transformation

In its quest to develop projects in renewable energy, green ICT infrastructure, energy savings and emission reductions to jointly accelerate the green digital transition in Malaysia, Huawei Malaysia has sealed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Progressture Power and JJ-LAPP for the latter’s solar energy venture.

Under this agreement, Huawei and JJ-Lapp will be positioned as the preferred partners for potential customers seeking a trustworthy, reliable, secure, and assured cleantech solutions, as well as setting Progressture Solar as a key service provider with a shared philosophy of helping both local andmultinational companies transition to net-zero carbon emissions.

In the drive towards sustainable development goals in the country, the MoU will see the three parties utilise and share their combined capabilities within the renewable energy sector to deploy reliable green infrastructures and technology, reiterating their commitment and support to accelerate Malaysia’s progress towards carbon neutrality by 2050.

The MoU is also aimed to provide a stronger ecosystem of new possibilities for renewable energy industry players.

Additionally, the strategic partnership between the three companies is set to become the go-to solution for digital energy transitions, specifically for commercial and industrial (C&I) clients.

With this collaboration, Progressture Solar will invest heavily in the ownership and development of clean energy assets, including solar PV systems for businesses, EV charging network solutions, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and green data centre facilities.

Meanwhile, JJ-LAPP will be the product partner for Progressture Solar, providing the delivery of green products and solutions to meet the needs of C&I clients.

Whilst, Huawei Malaysia will bring its expertise as a global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider to manufacture and equip the technical infrastructure for the tripartite venture.

The MoU was signed by the co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Progressture Power, Mr Ng Yew Weng, General Manager of JJ-LAPP, Mr Chang Chee Keong, and Vice President of Digital Power Business Group of Huawei Malaysia, Mr Chong Chern Peng.

Huawei and JJ-Lapp are supporting us in providing these technological solutions for businesses to adopt green practices while reducing their carbon footprint. This strategic partnership also fortifies our shared commitment to leverage clean technologies to reduce emissions and aid in our nation’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050,” Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Progressture Solar, Mr Ng said.

According to vice President of Digital Power Business Group of Huawei Malaysia, Mr Chong said the strategic partnership through the MoU demonstrates Huawei Malaysia’s commitment to supporting its customers in finding clean energy technology solutions to spur environmental-friendly initiatives.

“We believe we can deliver comprehensive solutions that meet the expectations of our customers with a shared vision and commitment to bring forth power solutions that collectively deliver a greener, more sustainable operational environment as part of energy transitions. In the long run, with a robust portfolio of solar projects, we will be able to establish a recurring income stream,” added Mr Chong.
