Some ministry titles have been changed in Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s Cabinet.
This was revealed when he announced his new Cabinet.
Some of the names were shortened, while others were expanded to indicate that the ministerial portfolio would be broader and more generic in scope.
The Tourism, Arts, and Culture Ministry has been renamed the Tourism Ministry.
The Housing and Local Government Ministry is now known as the Local Government Ministry.
The Economy Ministry now appears to have a broader portfolio and is a full ministry in its own right, independent of the Prime Minister’s Department.
The Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry has been changed to the Agriculture And Food Security Ministry.
The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia has been renamed to the Ministry of Communications and Digital.
The Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change replaced the name of the former Environment and Water Ministry.
The Rural and Regional Development Ministry is currently thought to have unified the duties of two previous ministries, the Rural Development Ministry and the Federal Territories Ministry.
