Bursa Malaysia ended the Monday morning trading session in negative territory with the benchmark index FBM KLCI ceded 3.49 points or -0.24% at 1,475.05.
Under selling pressure and also following the negative cue of Wall Street’s performance last Friday, the main index headed south.
At 9:00 am, the index opened slightly lower at 1,476.72.
During the morning trading session, the index was traded in the range of 1,471.57 – 1,476.72.
On the broader market, decliners outpaced gainers 438 to 309, while 412 counters were unchanged.
Whilst trading volume was registered at 1.77 billion units with total value of RM829.72 million.
Top five active counters for the morning session were Advance Synergy, Sunview Group, Borneo Oil, Infoline Tec Group, Serba Dinamik.
Top five gainers were Hextar Technologies Solutions, Malaysian Pacific Industries (MPI), Infoline Tec Group, LTKM, UMW Holdings.
Whilst top five decliners were Nestle Malaysia, PPB, Kuala Lumpur Kepong, Sime Darby Plantation, PETRONAS Gas.
