MoT to Review 5 Development Projects with Total Value of RM650 Mil: Anthony Loke

The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has agreed to review five development projects involving a total contract value of nearly RM650 million to be implemented through open tender or limited tender.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said in a statement today that the five projects had previously been approved to be procured through direct negotiations, but the Letter of Acceptance had not yet been issued.

The development project involved is the Stabilization and Re-Profile of Slopes on the Pahang Railway (Mentakab-Merapoh) and on the Kelantan Railway (Gua Musang-Tumpat).

Also involved is the appointment of an Independent Checking Consultant (ICC) for the Klang Valley Twin Track Upgrading Project (KVDT) Phase 2; East Coast Track-Conservation of Cave Musang-Dampat Track and Repair of Flood Damage (Package C); the Timur Pantai Runway project-Rehabilitate and the Gemas-Mentakab Runway Upgrade project (Package A).

"The implementation of tender procurement is also in line with the new government's commitment to limit the practice of direct negotiation tenders," said Loke.
