Sime Darby Plantation Sees The Return Of Dato Idris Kechot To The Board

Sime Darby Plantation has appointed Dato’ Idris Kechot with immediate effect as its independent and non-executive director.

Dato Idris who is not a stranger to the corporate world has vast experience and expertise in end-to-end delivery across the full unit trust and investment management business value chain. He made a valuable impact as a board member for numerous large corporations across various industries. Headed several departments throughout the years and have successfully innovated and executed numerous programmes across various corporate disciplines to achieve key company objectives encompassing key fiscal, strategic, and operational metrics.

He embodied successful leadership with a proven track record, having played an integral part in successfully achieving strategic, revenue, and profit objectives within Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) during his tenure as the Executive Vice-President, Unit Trust, and the Deputy President & Group Chief Operating Officer, Asset Management of PNB and also as the Head & Executive Director of Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad. Dato’ Idris was previously a director of the Board of Malayan Banking Berhad and Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad.

The gentleman was also a former Director of Sime Darby Plantation Berhad (before the Company’s listing on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in 2017) and PT Minamas Gemilang & PT Anugerah Sumbermakmur (Minamas) where he left in 2019. Currently, he sits on the Board of Kumpulan Fima Berhad. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness from the University of Putra Malaysia.
