Bursa Malaysia ended Friday morning trading session in negative territory with the bell-weathered index FBM KLCI retreated 5.23 points or -0.35% at 1,475.70 as compared to yesterday’s close of 1,480.93.
Taking the negative cue from overnight performance of DJIA and Nasdaq, the main index has inched lower. The Wall Street performance closed weaker after the release of US Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP). It displayed a stronger-than-anticipated performance after upbeat cues from the release of the Automatic Data Processing (ADP) Employment Change
At 9:00 am, the index opened slightly lower at 1,479.53.
During the morning trading session, the index was traded in the range of 1,474.48 – 1,482.39.
Top five active counters for the morning session were DS Sigma Holdings, Borneo Oil, Zen Tech International, Citaglobal, Top Glove.
Top five gainers were Hextar Technologies, Malaysian Pacific Industries, Nestle Malaysia, Heineken Malaysia, Hong Leong Financial Group.
Whilst top five decliners were Computer Forms Malaysia, Dutch Lady Milk Industries, Kuala Lumpur Kepong, PETRONAS Dagangan, PETRONAS Gas.
