Roshan Narayan Announced As New CEO Of Blaze Esports

Blaze Esports has appointed Roshan Narayan as its CEO with immediate effect. 

Roshan Narayan has more than 12 years’ experience in sports and more than 2 years’ experience in the Esports domain. Narayan brings a unique combination of strategic, operational, and creative flair to Blaze Esports. As the former Global Head for Esports at Matchroom.net, Roshan has a passion for creating opportunities and outcomes that drive the Esports fraternity ahead in the nation which is also reflected in his work in the past where he help curated an IP that is live and running in four different countries called the Axiata Game Hero – Football Addition. 

Sharing his thoughts on joining Blaze Esports, Roshan said “I am extremely excited to join Blaze as I believe I can leverage my experience in both the sport and Esports world to build something that goes beyond what is expected of an Esports organisation. I can’t wait to establish Blaze Esports as a fulcrum in the Esports space with the help of my amazing team that includes two new members; Adrian Hendriks (Head of Tournaments) and Azim Yazid “Bobo”(Marketing Manager).”

With the wealth of experience all three new members bring forth, there is no question that Blaze Esports will make a mark in the Esports domain in Malaysia and build towards a globally recognized brand. Adrian Hendriks possesses more than five years’ experience in the gaming industry as a referee, head referee, observer and caster/commentator, Hendriks has been involved in many local and international Esports events with the most recent 2022 SEA GAMES as an International Technical Officer. Azim Yazid also known as “Bobo”, has 

many accolades to his name one of which is being one of the masterminds behind Toyota GR Velocity Esports Championship. 

Narayan has been a life-long fan of anything related to sports. Starting off as announcer and later sports anchor at Astro SuperSports back in 2007, he moved on to be the Head of Strategic Partnerships of the World Football Summit Asia and an active member of Warriors Den, Esports Education to most recently the Global Head of Esports at Matchroom.net 

“From here I look to only move forward with Blaze Esports. I am a firm believer that Esports can be a powerful channel for positive outcomes for Malaysians and I look forward to building an Esports ecosystem where the gaming community can participate, celebrate, and enjoy memorable esports moments.”

“I plan to leverage my experience from the world of sports to build something truly new with the exceptional team we have that goes beyond what’s expected of an Esports organisation”, Narayan said. 

Close to 50 talented and passionate individuals Blaze Esports is growing and scaling up at a tremendous speed. With its two divisions in place – Blaze Tech and Blaze Esports, the company combines Esports events with activities such as creating and developing an ecosystem of premium platforms, media and brand integration into Esports. Being a one stop solution that has anything to do with the world of Esports, Blaze Esports plans to continue on its mission to rebuild the structure, engaging the gaming community and creating high impact tournaments in the long run.

Narayan added, “We are doing this through our network of facilities, online events and camps, content creation, strategic partnerships, and much more on the horizon.”

Being the partner agency for the Malaysia Esports Federation (MESF), Narayan has many plans to take Blaze Esports forward to new levels with LIGA Esukan Malaysia (LIGA eMAS) Season 2 rolling out in February 2023 and Season 3 of LIGA eMAS in August of 2023. There are also exciting plans for July 2023 in the pipeline. As a partner with MESF, Blaze Esports aims to build participation at the grassroots level, strengthening competitive pathways and creating a stronger awareness of Esports in Malaysia.
